Progressive Grocer (PG) magazine released its 8th annual list of the Top Women in Grocery for 2014, and featured Abby Fox, Manager of Procurement Strategy at Unified Grocers as a “Rising Star.” Fox was recognized for leading a significant inventory reduction initiative as well as establishing a KPI-driven replenishment program designed to maximize service and profitability.

Fox, a Blue Ridge Analytics customer and frequent attendee  of Blue Ridge demand forecasting and replenishment education events, led Unified Grocers to an aggressive inventory reduction of 11 million dollars while increasing customer service levels.

The Blue Chip Program created by Blue Ridge greatly complement our strategic plan. This was a crucial first step toward moving our team in the right direction.
“I am honored to receive this recognition among my peers in the industry. However, this success could not have been accomplished without the contribution of two very talented teams both at Unified Grocers and Blue Ridge. A special “thank you” goes out to my team member at Unified, Albert Rangel, who continues to make tremendous contributions to this initiative."

To achieve her ambitious inventory reduction goals, Fox knew that a more vigorous training, certification and accountability program would push her replenishment buying team to new heights.

“The Blue Chip Program created by Blue Ridge greatly complimented our strategic plan. This was a crucial first step toward moving our team in the right direction,” Fox commented. She went on to say, "We are continuing to enhance our program with the addition of Blue Ridge Analytics, which will assist us to target and measure momentum projects to increase efficiencies through the supply chain.”

Blue Ridge leadership was enthusiastic to hear of Fox’s accomplishment. “We’ve always known Abby to be a strong leader and very worthy of this kind of recognition,” stated Greg White, CEO at Blue Ridge. “She is someone that has become a valuable contributor to our customer community. I have little doubt she will continue to lead her team to even greater results.”
